Frequently Asked Questions

How much is my case worth?

Verdict and settlement amounts, even in cases that may seem similar, can vary widely depending on a number of factors, including the facts, the law, the existence of insurance, and the availability and credibility of witnesses.

How do you decide whether you will take my case?

We will review your case at no cost. If we believe we can be of service to you, we will meet with you and review the merits of your case, but no attorney-client relationship will be established until a contract is signed.

How do I pay for my legal fees?

We work on a contingency basis. That means there is no fee unless we win.

How do I pay for the expenses of my case?

We will advance all the fees and costs of the case and will only be reimbursed if we are successful by way of a settlement or verdict.

Who will work on my case?

We have access to a team of lawyers, doctors, nurse consultants, case managers, paralegals and other support staff who will be working on your case. As a team, we will work toward a successful outcome.

What should I do if I am in an accident?

To increase your potential overall recovery in an auto accident case, you should:

  • Insist at the scene that a report be filed with local law enforcement.
  • Document everything you can about the accident and any injuries.
  • Do not talk to anyone about the accident or any injuries except the law enforcement officer at the scene and your doctor or lawyer. Do not speak with an insurance adjuster without legal representation.
  • Use a camera or cell phone to photograph the accident scene, including all vehicles involved and any visible/known injuries.
  • Take the names, addresses and phone and license plate numbers of any witnesses who might help you prove your case.
  • See your doctor as soon as possible. Tell him or her how you were injured, carefully describing all symptoms/complaints. Be sure to report any memory problems, confusion or disorientation, however minor such symptoms may seem.

What should I do if an insurance adjuster asks me to make a recorded statement?

Do not make any statement, recorded or otherwise, to an insurance adjuster before speaking with your attorney, no matter what the adjuster tells you. Request the adjusters name, company name, and telephone number, and then contact Williams Law to speak to an attorney.
